As I look back on the past six months I'm struck with how much we've been able to accomplish in such a short time. While some of our efforts are still in process, we're already beginning to see impact.
Our Membership and Marketing Committees are in full swing and a new Member Ambassador Program will be launched soon. Our website is in the process of being redesigned and a new Chamber rack card has taken the place of an outdated booklet and is now being used for membership promotion.
Plans for our new Visitor Center on Pacific Avenue in Downtown Bremerton are being made and we'll be moving in this summer. A new advisory council on Bremerton tourism has been launched which will result in greater leverage of current tourism efforts as well as increased funding for current and future efforts. The word cloud above was created from a recent brainstorm session.
We'll be bringing together a group of East Bremerton Chamber member businesses this summer to help inform City and County officials of our needs and concerns. Other geographic and affinity groups will sprout up in 2020.
Future luncheon speakers include State Senator Emily Randall in July, Mayor Greg Wheeler in August and a special luncheon in the fall dedicated to "The Community Impact of Development in Bremerton."
The Chamber's success depends on your involvement. If you can't make it to a luncheon, please keep an eye out for notices of other activities or engage with us on Facebook. We've grown from 2,000 to nearly 2,500 likes in the last six months!
Thank you for being a member of the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce. I hope you're looking forward as much as I am to the next six months!
