The New Year Welcomes Change for the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce

It's a New Year and one that we expect to be full of change here in Bremerton and especially here at the Chamber of Commerce.

As you know, I've spent the last three months listening to a lot of you as you share your stories and perspectives as they relate to your relationship with the Chamber. We've sent out a survey to our entire membership, asking you questions that will help us determine how best to serve you in the coming months and years. I now know that many of you love the Chamber, attend our monthly luncheons regularly and believe you get a lot from your membership.

Others have told me that they really don't know what the Chamber does, let alone how we impact your businesses and community. I've met with other Chamber executives and learned more about what other Chambers of Commerce do and how they measure their impact. And I've heard lots of stories of the history of the Bremerton Chamber, both long-past and more recent.

I've been gradually integrating all those stories and perspectives into my thinking as I determine what recommendations to make to the Board of Directors later this month. While I can't share the specifics with you before their retreat, I will let you in on what the three focus areas are.

ENGAGE: Initiatives include the ENGAGEMENT of emerging business leaders in our membership, our committees and our leadership and COLLABORATION with other local organizations and government agencies.

ADVOCATE: Collectively we can create a stronger VOICE for Bremerton businesses.
IMPACT: How do we ensure that our resources, including member dues, are being used for greatest impact?

Want to know more? Want to get more involved in the future of the Bremerton Chamber of Commerce?

Attend our monthly luncheon on February 19th where we'll be unveiling our vision for the coming months and years and providing opportunities to engage!
Until then, remember...your Chamber is in business for your business!
